Pregnancy and postpartum bring so many changes – and for me, some of those changes have shown up in my skin and body.
I’ve slowly started introducing some of my skincare and in-clinic treatments again.
I’m not trying to change everything at once. My approach has been to look at what’s bothering me now, what I’d like to work on over time, and create a plan around that.
For me, the main focuses have been pigmentation, overall skin quality, removing an old tattoo and rebuilding strength through my core.
Here’s what I’ve added back into my routine.
Consistency with skincare is always something we talk about at CQ Aesthetics, and I’m taking exactly the same approach with my own skin.
Consistency with skincare is always something we talk about at CQ Aesthetics, and I’m taking exactly the same approach with my own skin.
In the morning, I’m alternating between Ultra Brightening Serum Mild and Ultra C+ Rejuvenating C Chebula Serum, depending on what my skin needs.
At night, I’ve introduced Ultraceuticals A Renewal Retinol Facial Serum Mild into my routine.
Pigmentation is one of my biggest skin focuses postpartum, so my homecare routine has been selected to work alongside the treatment plan I’m following in clinic.
And as always, SPF is an essential part of my morning routine – particularly when pigmentation is a concern.
Pigmentation has become much more noticeable for me, so this is one of the main things I wanted to address once I was ready to begin treatments again.
I’ve started Pico Genesis Laser at CQ Aesthetics.
Rather than looking for one treatment to do everything, I’m approaching my skin as a longer-term plan.
My plan is to alternate Pico Genesis monthly with CoolPeel CO₂ Laser, as they both target different layers of the skin, with my treatment plan adjusted along the way depending on how my skin responds.
That’s something I really believe in when it comes to skin: there isn’t necessarily one treatment that does it all.
Different technologies can play different roles within a treatment plan, and your skin should continually be reassessed rather than simply following the same protocol indefinitely.
Another thing on my list has been the tattoo on my wrist.
I’ve now started Pico Tattoo Removal, and I’ll share more of this process as I progress through my treatments.
Tattoo removal is very much a process rather than an overnight transformation, so this one will be interesting to document and show you over time.

The other major change for me has been rebuilding strength through my abdomen after pregnancy.
I’ve introduced truBody truFlex into my routine as part of my approach to strengthening and re-engaging my abdominal muscles.
For me, this isn’t about trying to immediately “get my pre-baby body back.”
My priority is feeling stronger again and supporting my body as I gradually return to my normal routine and work schedule.
Being on the other side of the treatment bed has been a good reminder of something we tell our clients all the time:
You don’t need to do everything at once.
Good skin and body outcomes aren’t about jumping from one treatment to another.
They’re about understanding what you want to address, choosing appropriate treatments and skincare, allowing time for your body and skin to respond, and adjusting the plan as you go.
